Environmental Practices

The nwpp ( non-woven polypropylene ) material used to manufacture both  The Gatherer and The Shopper product has gone through comprehensive testing for cadmium, mercury and determining lead content (ppm) in materials.  Our nwpp bags are considered non-toxic and safe for the environment through Competition Bureau Of Canada and Health Canada,  Ito-Yokado/7/11 Japan , Intertek Environmental Services, Shangjia

As market leaders in nwpp reusable bags, our manufacturer feels a responsibility to raise the bar in terms of standards in the composition of the raw materials to produce our products.

After extensive months of trial and error, our manufacturer has managed to reduce the content of chemicals that could have a negative effect on the environment and all its stakeholders, namely you, our customer and consumers.

Standard material used by many in the market place would see the lead and cadmium safety levels at 100mg/g of material.  Our products boast as low as .003 ppm = mg/g, no higher than 10mg. Equivalent to over 97 times lower than the set standards in the NWPP reusable bag industry and this is considered virtually lead free by environmental standards.

This has meant our materials are slightly more expensive than standard PP material and PE boards carried by our competitors.

However we do not put a price on safety of our end users and the biological footprint our bags will have on the environment.

By reducing the chemical composition we have produced a more consumer and environmental conscious product.
